Rainfall Update: Impacts to Summer Village Infrastructure
June 26 2026
During the last rainfall event, the wastewater and lagoon system approached or reached capacity on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The NEPL (County of Wetaskiwin) crews were actively monitoring conditions and responded where possible.
The ground has not yet fully absorbed the recent rainfall, and additional heavy rainfall is forecast from Friday, June 26 through Tuesday, June 30, 2026. During that time, to help reduce the strain on the wastewater system, you are requested to limit non-essential water use where possible.
This includes:
-
Delaying laundry and dishwasher use if possible.
-
Limiting unnecessary water consumption.
-
Conserving water until conditions improve.
Remember:
-
Don't drive through flooded roadways.
-
Check that your sump pumps are functioning.
-
Ensure eavestroughs are clean and are draining away from buildings.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through these challenging weather conditions. Any further updates will be posted on the Summer Village website.
In an emergency, always call 911.
